The Vertica–Care mimics the natural sequence of movements to gently lift the patient from a prone to a sitting position,
and from there to an upright position. Turning the patient during mobilisation is not necessary avoiding stress.
Sitting up sooner.
In the Vertica–Care patients can assume a genuine sitting position, which enables them to take meals or receive visitors in comfort.
Furthermore, this brings them to the same eye–level as other people, which is good for their self–esteem. Ultimately, independence and freedom of movement
stimulate our feeling of wellbeing and help the recovery process.

Rest is very important to recovery and rehabilitation. While bed rest is good for patients, it also has been realized that patients need to be assisted to become active as often as possible.
During the a recovery period the patient is dependent on his own strength in combination with the help of staff to be mobilized to assist rehabilitation. We believe that there must be another way to mobilize
patients safely and support staff with this duty – we are therefore pleased to present you the Stiegelmeyer Vertica–Care bed: perfectly conceived and precisely engineered
to the needs of both staff and patients.
Early VERTICAlisation begins with a sitting position
Complete mobilisation from the bed starts with a sitting position. While being bed ridden in a supine position and rendered completely passive, meals cannot be eaten and
all nursing activities cannot be performed. Social activities such as interacting with visitors and staff, and even reading and watching TV is awkward and not practical.
Sitting upright with feet firmly supported is the first step back towards a normal life for any patient.
Early mobilisation accelerates recovery during rehabilitation, reduces the need for hospital stays and can also reduce ulcer risk, mental confusion and the need of analgesics.
Sitting – the first step to normality.
PERSPECTIVES are changing. In modern care beds, patients can get into a comfortable sitting position with the help of an adjustable mattress base.
Vertica goes one step further: the patient can not only sit comfortably, but also has a safe contact with the floor or a firm grip on a footrest – this means that the sensation of
position and posture of the body via proprioceptors is supported in the muscles, tendons and joints of the legs. This increases well–being, stimulates the circulation and
stimulates the VERTICAlisation.
CONTINUOUS height adjustment The multifunctional foot board section (optional) can also be used as a table. For those being mobilized gradually after a serious illness, this allows them to enjoy eating,
sitting upright again, and to engage with visitors at eye level. This improves the recovering process during rehabilitation which stimulates the healing.
Easy standing up.
It is only a small step from SITTING to STANDING. If residents manage to sit up in bed properly again, they have made the first step towards standing.
With the Vertica, residents can be raised easily and fully controlled. After being bed ridden for a long time,
sitting upright with feet firmly supported is the first step towards a normal life. It provides early independence and socialisation of the patient.
The Vertica lifts the patient, following natural movements from a horizontal supine position, into a sitting position and then into a standing position.
During the process, individual adjustments can be made to accommodate the patient’s state of well-being. The standing process
is a perfectly smooth and continuous motion – which can of course be interrupted at any time to make individual adjustments according to the patient’s state of well–being.
This is the start of gentle VERTICAlisation of the patient. Of course, emergency buttons on the hand switch make it possible to quickly achieve and easily access the shock or
CPR position and safely abort the mobilization process.
Vertica makes the LIVES OF HEALTHCARE STAFF easier. Depending on the condition of the patient, the mobilization process of the Vertica will necessitate only one extra person to provide the support for the mobilization activity,
safely and professionally. Less space is required in the room and less additional equipment is needed.
Practical SAFETY begins with a good construction. The issue of security can always be divided into "constructive" and sense of security. Patients who are particularly weaker will feel secure just because the table is
protecting them from tilting forward. Easily accessible grab handles which can be adjusted to the position of the patient guarantee stability and a sense of security. In addition,
the side pads can be used for positioning to give the patient a sense of stability and security in all directions.
Vertica is designed with large radii, less joins and spacious surfaces allows for easy cleaning for optimal hygienic conditions.
EXTENDING the mobilisation supports. Extending the mobilisation supports to lengthen the bed.
Individually-adjustable frame sections serve as a mobilisation support The grab handle on the mobilisation support swings away freely to allow the patient to stand up easily.
The Vertica Homecare’s stable mobilisation supports are easy to bring into position with only one hand.
Additional SAFETY Grab handles on the mobilisation supports provide additional safety and can be swivelled out of the way to save space.
